CHIA provides facility billing and utilization data of health facilities operating within the state of Nevada. This data is only available for valid research, and does not include personal private patient identifiers. Data usage validity will be determined during the "Limited Data Set Use" approval process, which starts after completing the first of the following steps.
To Purchase Nevada Health Data:
Mr. Greenway will assist you in refining the wording of the LDSUA and explaining the HIPAA rules regarding research needs vs. sensitive fields. After this step has been completed, Mr. Greenway will email the unsigned version of your LDSUA to the State HIPAA Officer for review and approval or request for modification. Upon approval by the HIPAA officer, you will be requested to sign the approved LDSUA. After this, go to step 3.
NOTE: The HIPAA Officer reserves the right to request an updated LDSUA at any time if 1) the LDSUA form is updated, or 2) the HIPAA officer determines that more stringent data release standards are necessary.
Make a check payable to BOARD OF REGENTS . Please do not make a check payable to Center for Health Information Analysis. Mail the check to our Center:
Notice: CHIA incurs a significant cost in the preparation of data sets. Our charges represent a partial recovery of the costs incurred by CHIA to collect, process, and redistribute the data. An approved Limited Data Set Use Agreement (LDSUA) authorizes the user to utilize the data for public health purposes. As prescribed in the LDSUA, this right can be revoked if the terms of the agreement are breached.
Requests cannot be filled unless DHHS, Division of Health Care Financing and Policy has your signed Limited Data Set Use Agreement on file.
